Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has admitted he’s uncertain about his future at the Bundesliga club.
Asked about his future by German daily Bild, Aubameyang said: “I really don’t know.”
The Gabonese international has assured fans he won’t be leaving before the end of the season: “My goal is to get at least one title this season and win the Torjägerkanone.”
In case you’re wondering, Torjägerkanone is the award given to top scorer in the Bundesliga.
Moving on, Bild say Real Madrid are keen on Aubameyang, but there is a ‘persistent rumour’ Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City also want to sign him. The player’s comments have ‘heated’ the ‘farewell’ rumours according to Bild, and there’s an increasing feeling that next summer could be the one which sees Auba leave Dortmund.
Bild reckon Aubameyang could cost any interested club as much as €70m in the summer. With 18 goals and also has three assists to his name this season, that doesn’t sound too outlandish.
However, Aubameyang will be 28 years of age by the time of the summer transfer window, which would naturally leave clubs wary about such a big investment. Manchester City would be likely to back Guardiola in whatever he wants next summer, which would help Dortmund edge the price up if the interest is real.
