Liverpool star Luis Diaz’s parents have revealed the inside details on his time at Anfield so far, and how much the Colombian is loving life under Jurgen Klopp.
Diaz has been a big hit for Liverpool since arriving in a £40.5m move from Porto at the end of the January transfer window.
He’s hit the ground running in England, with a series of impressive performances and a tally of five goals and three assists in 21 games so far, making him a firm fan favourite.
The 25-year-old is also a hugely popular player back in his homeland, where there is a constant stream of praise from former players, journalists and analysts.
There is a growing belief that he could be the next big star to come out of Liverpool, following in the footsteps of the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota.
All three of those players, and many more besides, have enjoyed remarkable rises courtesy of working under Klopp in recent years.
The German’s relationship with his players is world-renowned, and now Diaz’s parents have revealed what their son has had to say about it.
“He is maturing; I see him more serene in everything he does, very disciplined in everything,” Semana report his mother saying.
“He is very serious, and responsible in all his work, and that’s why he has done so well. God gives him blessings so that he can continue to excel.
“He is loving with his dad, with everyone, we talk every day. He tells me, ‘mummy, you’re the best mummy in the world; I love you very much’.
“He doesn’t hold grudges against anyone because he’s always been simple since he was a child, humble; I’ve seen him the same way since he was a child.
“He tells me, ‘the manager likes me; when I play my games, he hugs me’, and he has also been able to get along with his teammates. They welcome him for being the way he is.”
