It appears that one of the more frustrating sagas for Chelsea fans is about to come to an end.

That’s the future of Antonio Rüdiger, whose contract at Stamford Bridge is due to end on June 30th 2022, meaning he is currently free to talk to other clubs.

This is something he has been doing, trying to see what the market has to offer, and the Chelsea defender has chosen to go to Spain.

That’s according to Sport 1 journalist Patrick Berger, who took to Twitter to announce the latest on the matter.

The German reporter explains that the Chelsea star will join Real Madrid in what is a ‘done deal’, where he will sign a four-year deal worth €6.8m per year after tax plus bonuses.

Not only that, but the Germany international and his agent ‘get a huge signing bonus of €35m’, with Berger pointing out this all comes from ‘sources close to the player’.

Either way, it appears Thomas Tuchel will have to make do without Rüdiger next season, which will be a big blow to Chelsea going forward, as they will now have to replace him.
