With Richarlison being one of the most loved players in Brazil, the affection for him would be no different with his compatriots at Everton.
As Toffees’ player Allan today has an interview featured by Globo Esporte, he had a few nice words about his friend, who’s still called the ‘pigeon’ in his home country.
With the midfielder being six years older than Richarlison, he said he treats his teammate as a boy, claiming he’s there to help him with whatever he needs.
“I love this kid! I call him a boy because I’m a little older than him,” Allan told the Premier League (via Globo Esporte).
“He’s very hardworking and I try to pass on my experience as I get older to help and guide him. I’m sure he will have a great career here at Everton and for the Brazilian national team.”
Richarlison is the player with more time at the Goodison Park, having arrived in 2018, and Allan only joined him following his move from Napoli in 2020.
Now despite being able to play with Richarlison with Everton, Allan still struggles to have a place at the national team, as his place in the squad for the 2022 World Cup isn’t guaranteed yet. About that, the midfielder claims he’s been working at the English side for it.
“I always keep the dream alive, I know my skills and I know how good I am, but my first objective is to play well for Everton. Work hard for my team to move forward and then things will happen naturally. I’ve been working hard and if I play well in our games, I’m sure the opportunity at the national team will come.”
