Sandro Ramirez didn’t want to return to Everton in the summer.

The striker’s best case scenario would have been to impress Sevilla enough to make them push for a permanent transfer, or at least another loan with a vague suggestion of something more solid in the future.

But despite 18 appearances, Sandro failed to score a single goal and Sevilla had more interesting options elsewhere. A whole string of La Liga sides were linked with the Everton owned player, almost always on a loan basis, but most fell away and went after other transfers.

Late in the window a move to Real Sociedad for the season for arranged. Due to muscle, ligament and knee issues, Sandro only made his debut for the club at the weekend, playing a half against Valencia in a 1-0 loss.

Whilst that doesn’t sound like great news, it’s certainly a step forward from the injury issues. Speaking to Diario Vasco, Sandro explained: “I haven’t stopped for two weeks to recover as soon as possible from the injury. I have been working hard to be able to be well when the day comes. I did not take a single day of rest because I wanted to be one hundred percent. I found myself very well.”

That dedication is good news for Everton. Should Sandro be able to match it with much needed results, in terms of scoring goals, then the player’s transfer value will rise ahead of future windows.
