Signed by Wolverhampton Wanderers for £1.8m back in 2018, Rafa Mir never quite managed to impose himself at the Premier League club.
A series of loans in Spain and England followed, with spells at UD Las Palmas, Nottingham Forest and SD Huesca all helping him develop away from Molineux, where he only ever made four appearances.
That being said, all this was worthwhile for Wolves, who ended up making a tidy profit from his sale during the summer of 2021, as Sevilla came knocking for him and paid £14.4m for his services.
He has since made 52 appearances for them and scored 14 goals, which is a decent return, although they might have expected a bit more.
He said: “We analysed the market, the options we had. I had my idea and when the option to come to Sevilla came up, I didn’t hesitate. The club, the city, the European competitions, they were many things I had in mind to continue to grow as a player. A place like Sevilla is very good for that.”
