Two days ago, we covered claims made in Italy that Andrea Radrizzani has shown interest in taking over Pescara.
It was also explained the Leeds United owner has already held a meeting with the Italian club’s current owners. Journalist Luca Cilli even stated there was an initial meeting between Daniele Sebastiani, the president of Serie C side, and Radrizzani.
These claims of the Whites chief interested to invest to buy Pescara have now been dismissed by Sebastiani. The president even stressed he never held talks with Radrizzani.
“Negotiation with Radrizzani? Absolutely not, I deny. I do not know him and have never had any contacts. I want to say this because I would not want anyone to think that this news comes out of the club,” Sebastiani said, as quoted by Il Pescara.
Despite making his stance clear on the possibility of the Leeds United owner buying Pescara, the club president did suggest he is actively seeking to sell the Serie C side. However, he refused to provide any details on the process of finding a new owner.
“Who am I dealing with? It is a very private situation at the moment, there is a path, we have to work and I hope it will be successful,” he explained.
“It is right that there is a change in Pescara, that new people arrive, but they must be serious people and capable of carrying out a project that has lasted for twelve years. And in recent years, beyond the joys and bitterness on the pitch, no one can attack this club.
“I hear a lot of chatter in the city, it has become a joke. Tomorrow I’ll let you have a few laughs, maybe I’ll write a book. And when I do, someone will have to go into hiding.
“The timing for the club to be sold? There is no precise timing, but there is great will on my part to carry out the operation. There is an important interest and I will not get in the way, beyond the offer and the economic aspect. I’m interested in continuity, and leaving the team in good hands. Just this,” Sebastiani concluded.
Pescara were relegated from Serie B last season and are currently sixth in Serie C’s Group B table, with 32 points after 20 games, trailing leaders Reggiana by 16 points.
