Mateusz Klich is thrilled to be back in the Poland squad and it feels like he’s been speaking to the country’s media non-stop since arriving for national team duty.
There’s been press conferences, interviews with Polish newspapers, and he’s even appeared on TV chat shows.
The Leeds United player is certainly going through a career high and, just like his teammates away on international duty, has been happy to praise Marcelo Bielsa and how the manager is making a big impact at Elland Road.
But it could have been different, if choices had been taken another way then Klich would be in the US playing in MLS.
SportoweFakty quote the player as saying: “Over time, I realised that it could be getting harder to receive a call-up (to the national squad). I was very close to a transfer to the United States and it would probably have been a nail in the coffin. In the end, I didn’t leave, which I’m happy about.”
“I’m in the best shape I’ve ever had in my life. A lot has changed: I have seen a lot, learned a lot and drew a lot of conclusions. At the beginning of my football adventure, I did not take a few things seriously – even food. It’s only recently that I realised just how important it is for a football player.”
Marcelo Bielsa will be happy.
