Hull City defender Andrea Ranocchia has told the Italian media one of the reasons for joining the Premier League side was to win his place back in the Italy national team. Ranocchia joined Hull City on loan from Inter Milan in the last window.
Speaking to Gianluca di Marzio, Ranocchia was asked why he choose to sign for Hull City in January. The defender said the main reason was to experience the Premier League with Hull City after spending all his career playing in Italy. Ranocchia is also keen to play for Italy after losing his place because of the lack of games he was getting at Inter Milan.
“I chose to accept the proposal from Hull City to try to win back my place in the national team, but right now I’m interested in making the most of this experience,” said the Hull City player.
Ranocchia agreed to join Hull City until the end of the season in January, and made his debut against Manchester United. The player has gone on to play seven league games for the club, and he could be vital in helping Hull City avoid relegation.
