Hull City will make another attempt to sign Fenerbahce defender Gregory van der Wiel, according to claims in the Turkish media. The Premier League side tried to bring in the Netherlands international during the last window, but a deal never materialised.
Fanatik have reported Hull City are still showing an interest in Van der Wiel, and could look to sign the player in the next window. The full back has been frozen out at Fenerbahce due to discipline issues, and the Turkish club tried to offload him in January. It could cost Hull City up to €5m to sign the 29-year-old, and they will reportedly face competition from Monaco, Marseille and Sporting Lisbon.
Hull City’s pursuit of the player will also depend on keeping their Premier League status. Since the arrival of Marco Silva the Premier League side have turned their season around, and they are now out of the bottom three for the first time since October.
