Marseille have entered the race to sign Fenerbahçe defender Simon Kjaer, claim Sporx. It’s been reported the Ligue 1 outfit are ready to put in a bid for Kjaer as they look to bolster defence for the upcoming season.
It was reported last week in the Turkish media that Hull City sent two officials to Istanbul for negotiations with Fenerbahçe, with the Premier League side becoming the first club to make an official move for Kjaer.
However, Marseille manager Rudi Garcia is also keen to bring Kjaer into his team and the player is familiar with Ligue 1 after his spell with Lille. Sporx say Marseille are ready to pay €10m for Kjaer.
Hull City’s pursuit of the Denmark captain is likely to depend on the club securing their Premier League status next season. If they manage to remain in the top flight, Hull City boss Marco Silva has a chance of landing the Dane.
Kjaer is expected to leave the club at the end of the season and Fenerbahçe will reluctantly let go leave because of FFP restrictions.
