Newcastle United target Kevin Danso will be ‘very expensive’ this summer, should the Magpies decide to move for him.

That’s according to Austrian journalist Peter Linden, who does however believe that ‘money isn’t an issue’ for the Magpies when it comes to summer transfers.

Newcastle are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window strengthening Eddie Howe’s squad, particularly if they qualify for the Champions League next year, which they are on course to do.

They’re already being linked to several potential signings and Danso is one of those to have been named as a potential target.

Their interest was first reported in January but picked up again today, with a report stating that they could go on the offensive to secure his signature.

Linden covers those reports today and claims that it will be a ‘hot transfer summer’ for Danso after his performances for Lens this season.

According to his information his current market value is €16m and he has a contract until 2026, meaning any deal for him ‘will be very expensive’.

That, though, shouldn’t prove to be a problem for Newcastle as ‘money is not an issue’ at St James’ Park these days thanks to the investment and funding from the Saudi Arabian ownership.

Of course, that isn’t strictly true as Newcastle do still have to abide by Financial Fair Play rules and the limits that imposes, but the belief in Austria at least is that if they want Danso, they will be able to afford him.
