Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs to have been credited with an interest in Genoa star Radu Drăgușin.
Three days ago, Drăgușin’s agent Florin Manea told Fanatik that he held talks with Spurs over a potential deal for his client, during his trip to London.
Tottenham have received a transfer boost after the defender opened the door for a move to the Premier League, and his comments are relayed by AS.ro.
Although the Romania international has expressed his desire to make a switch to England, he has insisted that there have been no concrete approach from any of the interested parties so far.
“This [Premier League] is the championship I like, which is to my liking. It is a league that I follow and I hope to play there in the future,” he said.
“I am at Genoa. My favourite team is the national team. There are many rumours [about certain offers], but there is nothing written [in writing]. I never had a role model or idol. I saw that I’m similar to [Virgil] van Dijk, but I don’t have an idol.”
The 21-year-old’s latest comment comes a few weeks after his mother revealed that he has long maintained a dream of a potential transfer to England.
Drăgușin’s contract at the Serie A runs down in 2027 and despite publicly talking about his transfer desire, the centre-back has stated he’s not focused on what’s written about him in the media. The player made this claim when asked about his next move.
“[Where will I take the next step?] In a place where I will evolve the best and develop the best. I will make the decision when the time is right, but right now we have more important things to do than this,” Drăgușin explained.
“For me, market rumours are not something that motivates me. That’s the job of the specialists, it doesn’t influence me.”
The Romanian has managed a goal and an assist from 14 games this season.
