Towards the end of the winter transfer window, Brighton’s move for Brondby talent Clement Bischoff fell through.

While a transfer seemed very close at one point, it didn’t materialise due to late disagreements between the parties and the teenager stayed at the Danish club.

TipsBladet have looked at Bischoff’s situation today and they speak of Brondby’s concern that their talent could leave on a free transfer, with his current deal running out in the summer of 2026.

They obviously don’t want to see him leave on a free and would work to earn a fee from his sale.

Amidst this concern in Denmark, expert Kenneth Emil Petersen has spoken to ViaPlay about why Bischoff should help Brondby by making sure he leaves before the end of his deal.

He said, mentioning what Jesper Lindstrom did during his time at the Danish club: “Brondby must hope that there is a bit of [Jesper] Lindstrom in Clement Bischoff.

“Lindstrom was very focused on Brondby getting a transfer fee because they had sort of educated him and so on. They must hope for the same from Bischoff, that he can see a joy in passing something on to the club that has sort of raised him and given him the opportunity to become this talent. But he has fantastic cards in his hand, no matter what.”

It clearly shows that if Brighton do move for Bischoff again, they could have an advantage because of the winger’s contract situation.

They could sign him for a lower fee in the summer transfer window and take advantage of the contacts they have with Brondby from the January transfer window.

It remains to be seen if Bischoff attracts attention from other clubs and that is one thing Brighton will have to be wary of.
