Leeds United are in a battle with AC Milan in the chase to sign Red Bull Salzburg’s Noah Okafor.
The Switzerland international’s form has attracted attention from other clubs, including Leeds and the Serie A winners.
On October 27th, we carried a report from Calciomercato, who stated Jesse Marsch’s side will provide ‘stiff competition’ to the Rossoneri to secure the 22-year-old’s services.
Milan will be given a new opportunity to take a closer look at the striker when they face Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League tie at the San Siro on Wednesday.
Ahead of the European clash between the two sides, Gazzetta dello Sport interviewed the player.
With Leeds and Milan among the clubs in the mix to sign him, Okafor was quizzed whether he has preference on his next move.
“Honestly no. Whether it’s England, Spain, Italy or Germany, each league has a particular charm. The same applies to individual clubs. When there is something concrete, we will evaluate all together, analysing the various factors,” Okafor said.
After managing 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions last season, Okafor has been able to shine for the Austrian champions this term, scoring nine goals and registering two assists from 19 matches.
As the player to continues to impress for Salzburg, Leeds, Milan and other clubs are likely to keep tabs on him with a view to a transfer in the foreseeable future.
