CSKA Moscow goalkeeping coach Sergei Ovchinnikov has told the Russian media the Premier League would be the perfect place for Alexander Golovin.
The CSKA midfielder was linked with a move to Newcastle United and Southampton last week by a Russian football agent.
Russian website Sport Express have covered comments made by Ovchinnikov when quizzed about Golovin’s future: “For me, the Premier League will be a perfect place for him to develop. In the new level, I think he’ll progress rapidly. He’s a rare talent.”
Last week we covered comments from Russian agent Alexander Manyakov when he confirmed Newcastle United and Southampton were interested in Golovin.
The Russia international has impressed for CSKA in Europe this season and particularly in the Europa League tie against Arsenal.
With Newcastle United retaining their Premier League status weeks ago and Southampton on the verge of securing top flight football for next year, Golovin could be an option for both clubs.
Manyakov believes Newcastle United and Southampton would have to table offers in the region of €20m to land the CSKA star.
