Ronald Koeman signed Sandro Ramirez, simply known as Sandro, for Everton from Malaga in the summer of 2017, but things didn’t go so well.
Sandro was not involved in Sam Allardyce’s plans at the club and therefore was allowed to go out on loan in the January transfer window. The 22-year-old joined Sevilla on loan for the remainder of the campaign and has struggled to impress at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
The former Barcelona forward has explained how “pressure” has been the barrier for him to find the back of the net.
“I was really looking forward to playing in my natural position, in which I have always played and in which I can show why they signed me,” Sandro told Spanish newspaper AS.
“I’m resisting the first goal, but that’s always been difficult for me. Then when I take off the pressure everything goes. I know that when I score, everything will be much easier.”
In February, he told Estadio Deportivo: “It was a tough negotiation, Everton has resisted until the end, that is secondary, now I am where I wanted to be, where the body asked me to be, I do not have the World Cup in mind, I want to work and do what I do best. Score goals.”
If he can score for Sevilla against Real Madrid tonight, that should be a huge confidence boost.
