With Maurizio Sarri being linked with taking over at Juventus this summer, it’s no surprise rumours soon suggested Jorginho could follow him.
The former Napoli boss insisted the midfielder moved with him to Stamford Bridge and has repeatedly made it clear how important he thinks Jorginho is in his preferred system.
With the Italian media publishing predicted Sarri teams at Juve, the Chelsea man has been included and earlier this week he was asked about the potential transfer.
He pretty much dodged the question, explaining he thinks it’s unlikely Sarri will leave the Premier League club this summer, given that he’s got them in the Champions League for next season, and in the upcoming Europa League final.
TMW have picked up the quotes and Joao Santos is quoted as saying: “I think they are focused on the Europa League final. For Jorginho it was a pretty brilliant season, he made 50 games and finished third in the Premier League, is in the final in the Europa League and plays for the Italian national team.
“But Jorginho is a professional and not a fan of Napoli, he likes the city but he can’t say he doesn’t want to play for some team, when he won’t play football anymore he can think like a fan. For Napoli I believe that the important thing is to reinforce the team to be competitive with Juventus.”
That’s certainly not killing the story.
