Lecce youngster Patrick Dorgu has “got a lot to offer” and could be good enough for the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City, but dreams of a move to Chelsea.
That’s according to his agent, who has revealed all in a conversation with Sport Italia regarding the youngster as Premier League teams continue to be linked with him.
19-year-old Dorgu has been quietly impressing for Lecce since joining them in a €200,000 deal from Nordsjaelland’s U19’s in the summer.
That came after a summer in which he was linked with a number of sides, with Liverpool first showing an interest in him and his agent even admitting he was expecting an offer.
Manchester City were brought into the picture later, with a report last month stating that they were alongside the Reds and Barcelona in having the player watched.
All three clubs appear to be keen on him and a potential move in the future, even though the defender’s agent has admitted his client would instead prefer a move to Chelsea.
Now agent Kingsley Ogbodo, whose agency has been working with CAA Base Ltd representing the player, has spoken about the situation and was asked specifically about Liverpool and Manchester City.
“He is in the midst of his growth and learning process, so today it is too early to say. What I know is that he has a lot to offer and give,” he said.
“Not only the clubs you mentioned, but also others. I don’t want to name names and I don’t want to create noise around him, there’s no need. There is a lot of interest in Patrick and that doesn’t surprise me.
“Everyone can see his talent. When he has even more confidence in his abilities and has completed his growth, then we will see the results he can achieve.
“From different countries they try to contact me. When the time comes, we will know what to do. He is young and we want him to grow calmly, waiting for the right moment, which will come. One thing is certain.”
