Bartosz Kapustka left Polish club Cracovia and made a switch to Leicester City in 2016.
The 22-year-old wasn’t ready in his debut season and a year later, SC Freiburg signed him on a season-long loan deal.
He failed to impress in Germany and last summer, the Foxes allowed the winger to join second division Belgium club OH Leuven on another temporary spell.
At Leuven, the attacker showed signs of improvement until he suffered a ‘serious injury’ at the end of March, which has not only ruled him out for the rest of the season, but will also force him to miss out on the U21 European championship in the summer.
Kapustka’s Poland U21 teammate and Liverpool goalkeeper Kamil Grabara, who is currently on loan at Danish club AGF, has provided positive news regarding the Foxes player.
“He’s not terminally ill, I am calm about him,” Grabara was quoted as saying by Sportowe Fakty. Making it very clear that he feels some reaction to the player’s injury has been over the top.
Another report from Sportowe Fakty claims that Kapustka underwent knee surgery in Italy last Friday and has already started his rehabilitation.
The Reds stopper also gave his verdict on his compatriot’s transfer to the King Power Stadium.
“Everyone will perceive Bartosz through the prism of the transfer to Leicester and the fact is, he played very little. This is life, it happens,” Grabara explained.
“I am convinced that he will come back, he will start playing well and the same people who questioned him will announce that the talent has been reborn.”
