Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte’s first success at the highest level came when he was managing Juventus.
The 53-year-old laid the foundation to the Old Lady dominating in Italy for close to a decade and Giorgio Chiellini was one of the integral figures at the Turin club.
Chiellini’s time at Juve came to an end last season and he moved to Los Angeles Galaxy in the summer transfer window.
Sky Italia invited the defender to analyse yesterday’s Champions League matches, which included Tottenham sealing a 3-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. After the tie, Conte was quizzed whether he thought of bringing the 38-year-old to the north London club.
“He can do everything, especially as a manager I see him doing very well. He knows how to relate to his teammates, has the qualities of a leader,” he said, as quoted by TuttoMercatoWeb.
“Now have this experience in America and re-enter the football that belongs to you with an important role.”
Meanwhile, Tottenham had to come from behind to seal a victory over Eintracht Frankfurt. The former Chelsea coach has stressed Spurs could have made it difficult for themselves against the Bundesliga side on Wednesday and also sent a message to his players.
“We risked ruining an excellent match. After going behind and being able to do better, we were able to overturn it by creating many opportunities,” Conte explained.
“But we must know that the games end when the referee blows the whistle three times, instead we took the result for granted. When this takes over, you concede from a corner and panic. In the end, however, we managed to win with an excellent performance and this is the important thing.”
Tottenham currently lead Group D of the Champions League after picking up seven points from their first four games.
