As things stand, it appears there is one player destined to leave Manchester United in the summer, and that’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The former Sweden international (for now?) is widely expected to move elsewhere in the coming months, with MLS a likely destination, yet, for now, he remains a Red Devil.

And in case, you’d forgotten, he’s a bit over the top.

Speaking to RMC Sport, one of his former teammates at Paris Saint-Germain, Benjamin Stambouli, has a great little anecdote about the 36-year-old, although one that probably won’t surprise anyone.

He said: “One day, there was news on the TV, and Zlatan asked me to translate what was said because it was about him. I told him they wrote ‘Zlatan is Paris’ king’. I thought he was happy, because it was great that people loved him so much.

“But no, not at all. He was furious and shouted: “For f***’s sake, I’m not the king, but a God”. That guy is completely crazy.”

However, the French midfielder also made it clear his ego didn’t make him a bad person, and he has great memories of the Manchester United forward.

He continued: “He’s an incredible person who realises things quicker than everyone else. He’s very intelligent and tests you in every situation, only to analyse you. He likes to play, do stuff like that”.

Missing most of the season through knee injuries, Zlatan has only made seven appearances for the Red Devils this campaign, but will always be remembered for the 28 goals and 10 assists he managed to amass in his first year at Old Trafford.
