According to Turkish newspaper Fanatik, Tottenham Hotspur forward Vincent Janssen is now closer to returning for Fernerbahce.

The Tottenham loanee was injured during Fenerbahce’s game against Bursaspor in December, and hasn’t played a game for the club for almost 140 days.

Fanatik say Fenerbahce manager Aykut Kocaman was hoping the player would be ready to play in the final eight games of the season with the club in the mix for the league title, but Fanatik report Janssen has only managed to start pool therapy.

The Turkish newspaper say the player could return to action in three weeks, and he’s now taken off his protective boot.

The medical staff at Fenerbahce had been struggling to confirm a diagnosis for Janssen’s tow injury and were seeking help from Tottenham and Dutch national team physios.

The place of the injury seems very close to the nerves, meaning he needs to continue having therapy rather than being operated on.

Janssen is set to return to Tottenham in the summer and his injury could put Fenerbahce off keeping hold of him.
