Pep Guardiola thinks a lot of Joshua Kimmich, that much is obvious from the many photographs available of the manager passionately passing on advice. If Guardiola didn’t care, he wouldn’t bother, even towards the end of the German’s time with Bayern Munich, he was still pressing the advice and trying to improve Kimmich as a player.
There are also two clubs in Spain keen, but unlike the Manchester pair, those are unnamed. The obvious outcome is for the 22 year old to stay where he is. Carlo Ancelotti hasn’t used Kimmich as a nailed on starter, but he’s certainly been used.
This season Kimmich has played in central midfielder, as a holding midfielder, and at right back. It’s a versatility which could prove useful to Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, and of course Guardiola. Manchester City would look to have an advantage, simply because of Guardiola already knowing the player well.
In principle, Kicker say Kimmich wants to stay where he is. But if the frustration grows and the interested clubs make a move, Bayern may have a difficult situation on their hands.
