Greek website Sdna report Olympiacos have begun searching for a replacement for Bibras Natcho and Nottingham Forest midfielder Claudio Jacob looks to be an option for the Greek giants ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 31 year old Argentine midfielder joined the Championship side last summer on a free transfer, and now it’s reported he’s a target for Olympiacos.
Given the relationship between Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos, with the two clubs having the same owner in Vangelos Marikanis, the transfer could happen according to Sdna’s information.
Sdna say Jacob could follow the same path of his former City Ground teammate Gil Dias, who signed for Olympiacos in January after struggling to get games at Nottingham Forest.
Jacob has only played 13 games in the Championship this season and is under contract with the East Midland club until June 2020.
The player spent six seasons at West Brom, where he made over 150 league appearances for the club. However, with the Baggies dropping down to the second-tier last season the central midfielder was released.
