Massimo Cellino isn’t a name most Leeds United fans will remember fondly.
The Italian certainly had a colourful time whilst owner of the Yorkshire club, something which was always likely given his record at Cagliari Calcio in his own country.
There were dramas on and off the pitch during Cellino’s time in charge at Elland Road, but in a roundabout way his reign may have helped Andrea Radrizzani identify and take shares in Leeds United.
Things are obviously a lot better at the club since Cellino went back to Italian football. There he’s taken over at Brescia Calcio, and the summer transfer market sees him back looking towards the UK.
BresciaOggi and Pianeta Serie B report that Barry Douglas is on the verge of a move to Brescia. The 31-year-old’s contract with Leeds United expires at the end of June and as such he’s a free agent.
According to the claims, negotiations have been conducted in ‘great secrecy’ and securing Douglas will be seen as an ambitious move for the Serie B club.
