The Belgium football league is a little different from most around Europe. After what would be considered a regular season, the top six teams fight it out in the play-offs to decide who will be crowned champions.
Anderlecht are currently winning overall and face a crucial match at the weekend against Club Brugge, who are second. It would be a far more comfortable situation for Anderlecht if top scorer Łukasz Teodorczyk hadn’t lost his goalscoring boots.
A brilliant first half of the season has petered out, and Teo hasn’t scored a goal in the play-off games. That hasn’t killed all interest with het Belang van Limburg yet again saying there’s a ‘good chance’ he’ll leave, and West Brom and West Ham yet again named as the possible destinations. Anderlecht are already considering replacements.
Last week it was reported in Belgium that West Brom and Ham remained interested, despite the poor run Teo is going through, whilst some others have clearly dropped away.
Both Tony Pulis and Slaven Bilic are expected to add at least a striker each during the summer window and based on the season overall, Teo would be a good option for either West Brom or West Ham.
