Things are getting more and more complicated for Adrien Silva to sign for Leicester City in the summer window.
Although the club are said to be still interested in the player, the situation both at the Foxes and at Sporting makes the transfer more difficult to happen.
First because Leicester City are not living a great time like at the end of last season, so the budget and transfer market plans won’t be the same.
And there’s also the issue that Sporting still don’t want to sell the midfielder. After stopping the deal by demanding the Foxes pay for Adrien’s €45m release clause, the answer should be the same this time.
As reported by A Bola today, from all the Sporting players who are wanted in the transfer market, Adrien is the one the Portuguese club want to keep most.
The player is said to be too difficult to replace, and as a response to the interest, Sporting would also like to renew his contract and raise his salary.
President Bruno de Carvalho has spoken to the Italian media this week and said the club have no need to sell players, and won’t do it unless ‘indecent offers’ arrive.
So unless Leicester City are up for spending some good money on the player, this transfer won’t be happening.
