It seems Savinho’s expected transfer to Manchester City isn’t being viewed in a positive light in France.
As Pep Guardiola’s side are reportedly signing him from Troyes, who also belong to the City Group, we today get to see a rage about that attitude.
That comes from Jerome Rothen, who spoke to RMC Sport. In quotes from Foot Mercato, he makes it clear that Manchester City aren’t having a correct behaviour with Troyes.
“Maybe they think that because it’s Troyes, we’re not going to be vigilant. I find that problematic. I just want to say to them: “Get out of here, French football doesn’t need you”. I’m not ashamed to say it, we don’t need them (…) It makes me angry. This player sums it all up. They’re using this club as a springboard for certain players. He’s a quality player who could have made a real contribution to Troyes.”
With the player succeeding in La Liga, where he has seven goals and seven assists this season, it seems clear that he could’ve been of good use for Troyes.
Now the City Group managed to work on a deal to send him to Manchester City, who, according to reports from Brazil, will pay just €30m for the player.
That’s undoubtedly the hard part of becoming a satellite club, and we’ll see how their fans will react to that deal.
