Whilst Eden Hazard is having a good start to the season for Chelsea, so is his brother Thorgan at Borussia Monchengladbach.
Four goals and three assists in eight Bundesliga matches so far tells it’s own story, and a goal and two assists against Mainz on Sunday has prompted more praise to go the way of the former Chelsea owned player.
That means transfer links will be wheeled out, and Footmercato have a Monday article on interest. It’s claimed that Leicester City, along with Valencia and Sevilla, courted the player in recent transfer windows.
Then recent links with Everton, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan are referenced.
But now there’s new competition. Footmercato say a source close to the German club has informed them Lucien Favre, who has coached Hazard previously, is interested in the player for Borussia Dortmund.
On top of that, it’s insisted other prestigious clubs will appear in the coming months if Hazard can keep his form up.
It looks a tough battle for Leicester and Everton, should they make a move, but it must be noted Hazard has been endlessly linked with big clubs for several years and a move to one hasn’t really appeared close.
What may make a transfer more likely over the next year is Hazard’s contract situation, with his current Gladbach deal ending in June 2020.
