Who will replace Jupp Heynckes at Bayern Munich is one of the major issues in the German football media right now, with the veteran manager refusing to carry on for a further season.
Thomas Tuchel is widely considered the favourite but Uli Hoeneß hasn’t yet been ready to sit down, talk, and commit, perhaps still hoping his big favourite Heynckes will change his mind.
SportBild have a big feature on the situation in their magazine this week, and there’s mentions for both Chelsea and Arsenal.
It’s claimed Chelsea’s interest in Tuchel to replace Antonio Conte has ‘subsided’, with no reason given for that.
However, Tuchel is still a ‘hot candidate’ for Arsenal should Arsene Wenger leave his post this summer.
In August 2017 SportBild reported Chelsea had decided to appoint Tuchel, and Conte’s reign could be soon over.
In November the same magazine again claimed Chelsea interest.
A move to Arsenal has the cloud of Tuchel’s relationship with scout Sven Mislintat hanging over it, with the two men falling out at Borussia Dortmund.
