There continues to be disagreement in Germany around how much RB Leipzig will be paying for Ademola Lookman.
On Tuesday, Bild reported the Everton player had travelled to complete his transfer. They claimed the Toffees had initially been looking for €30m, but finally settled for €18m plus a further €2m in bonus payments.
That very much looked like a win for Leipzig, which may have been the point.
Kicker disagreed slightly, saying the initial fee is €20m and there’s a further €5m available in bonuses.
Bild have since doubled down, and insist it’s the originally reported figures, something which may be disputed by the media close to Everton.
The German newspaper go over how difficult talks have been between the two clubs. It’s explained that last summer the Premier League club wanted €33m and wouldn’t accept the €25m offered.
This time around it’s even claimed former Liverpool manager Gérard Houllier has been involved in the talks. There’s no suggestion as to why he’d be getting brought into Everton business, other than that he works as a consultant for RB.
Houllier has been ‘involved in the transfer’, according to Bild.
