Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have an article in their Wednesday edition on Gonzalo Higuain and his current state of mind.
The Napoli striker has split up with his girlfriend Lara Wechsler, according to Gazzetta, and that’s a surprise because it’s stated she got on well with the player’s family and looked to be a long term thing.
It’s not only on the romantic front that Higuain is facing uncertainty. Gazzetta explain that the player is trying to keep out of things as much as possible, and leaving everything regarding a transfer to his brother Nicolas and father Jorge.
Juventus rumours may have calmed down ever so slightly, but the interest is still there, and that counts for Higuain too. He sees Juve as a ‘prestigous’ option, but it’s not the only one.
Gazzetta say Higuain would accept a move to Arsenal or PSG, also said to be interested. If you’re Napoli in this situation then it’s obviously favourable if Higuain goes anywhere other than Juventus.
Higuain has some huge clubs after him and he’s ready to accept a move.
Still, finances may well prove a problem, with Arsenal unlikely to go to the figures Napoli want. There may well have to be some compromise if Higuain won’t let go of his exit idea.
