Since Crystal Palace shareholder John Textor took over Brazilian club Botafogo, there’s been huge curiosity about a potential partnership between the two clubs.
So on Tuesday, when the businessman was at the Eagles’ academy, he was interviewed by Youtube channel Fala Fogão to talk about the improvements he’s about to make at the Rio de Janeiro side.
There was a lot of chat about his intention of attracting young players to Botafogo the same way they do it in South London at Crystal Palace, and Textor ended up revealing that he’s taking a player from England to work at the Brazilian club in the coming months.
“I’ll send a young player from Crystal Palace to train at Botafogo in the summer. You will see, a future star,” said Textor (via Fogao Net).
At this stage, with Botafogo in need of reinforcements and a better structure, a little help from Crystal Palace will certainly be needed in terms of taking example from a Premier League club.
However, once new stars start showing up at the Brazilian club, then the London side can definitely benefit from it.
