PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn has emerged as a transfer target for Fulham.
Italian website Calciomercato claims the Cottagers ‘want a talent’ from the Eredivisie club and it’s Bergwijn, who has impressed with his displays after scoring four goals and registering five assists in nine league appearances this season.
The report only mentions the Premier League side are ‘thinking’ about the 21-year-old.
Despite sitting in the 18th spot in the table, Slavisa Jokanovic’s side have scored 11 goals and have the second best scoring record for the teams sitting in the bottom half of the table.
It is their defence that needs fixing as they have conceded 28 goals and it would be best for them to focus on strengthening that area rather than adding more fire power to their attack.
Any approach from Fulham for Bergwijn may not be easy because an earlier report from De Telegraaf stated there were several other clubs from England, Spain, Italy, Germany and Russia are watching the player.
The Dutch newspaper also reports that Bergwijn has a clear career path and that includes to prove his worth at PSV, get experience of playing in the Champions League and the national team before making the switch abroad.
