Galatasaray will make a move for Fulham midfielder Jean Michael Seri if they cannot get a transfer for Irfan Can Kahveci over the line.
That’s what Asist Analiz report today, stating that the Cottagers man is the back up option for the Super Lig club this month.
They explain that Galatasaray are keen on Başakşehir’s Kahveci but have encountered a ‘big surprise’ in their efforts and that is a bid from rivals Fenerbahçe.
That means they face a fight where there once wasn’t one and so the club’s management, while waiting for Başakşehir’s and the player to make a decision, have set up alternatives.
That’s led them to Seri, who spent last season at the club at loan from Fulham but returned to the Premier League side in the summer.
He’s not featured under Scott Parker since and was linked with a return to Turkey this month and it seems that remains on the table.
In case of the move for Kahveci not coming off, Galatasaray ‘will re-add’ the Fulham man to their squad, with the Turkish side keen for an ‘absolute midfield boost’ in this window.
There’s no mention of what sort of deal they’ll look at isn’t offered, given the current financial climate and the fact Turkish sides are usually quite careful with their money, a loan deal is the most likely one they’ll pursue.
Fulham’s stance isn’t mentioned either but given Seri has just two appearances in the Carabao Cup this season, it’s hard to see them opposing an exit too much.
