Three days ago, we relayed claims made in the Dutch press that Fulham have made a €17m bid for Calvin Bassey. It was also stated the defender would only consider a move if Ajax were to ask to him to leave.
On Friday, De Telegraaf reported the 23-year-old has changed his mind and is ready to join Marco Silva’s side.
It’s said the Premier League side and Ajax have reached an agreement for the defender’s sale and the ‘total value’ of the deal is around €21m. This suggests the fee could include bonuses.
The Dutch club will also be entitled to receive a percentage of any fee from his future sale.
The Nigeria international arrived in Amsterdam from Rangers last summer. After not being keen on the move earlier this week, the report states he’s now asked the Eredivisie side to sell him.
VI state it’s now down to the player to make ‘ends meet’ and this could related to him agreeing personal terms with Fulham.
