Over the past few months, several La Liga players have been victims of robbery at their homes and some of the incidents even occurred when their family members were present.
Zambo Anguissa, who is on loan from Fulham at Villarreal has become the latest victim, according to El Periódico Mediterráneo.
The incident took place last weekend at his luxury villa in De Los Pinos Avenue, when the midfielder was on international duty with Cameroon.
It’s indicated the intruders entered through one of the balconies of his villa, which is situated very close to the beach, and the robbers stole jewellery worth more than €100,000.
On returning to his villa, the Fulham owned player realised what had happened and lodged a complaint with National Police of Castelló. The report adds Anguissa’s representatives have also initiated an investigation.
Anguissa’s compatriot and Villarreal teammate Karl Toko Ekambi was at the receiving end six months ago when thieves took a luxury car of his.
The Fulham midfielder and Ekambi join Gabriel Paulista, Ezequiel Garay, Ramiro Funes Mori, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Gerard Piqué, Álvaro Morata, Jordi Alba, Dani Alves, Joaquín Sánchez, Thiago Silva, Philippe Coutinho, Karim Benzema and others to be victims of a spate of robberies against footballers in Spain.
