As Spanish side Girona are having their preseason preparations in Manchester, the club are reportedly afraid that some English sides could be interested in taking their players this summer.
The story is written by AS today, with the newspaper claiming that the easy access to Girona’s friendlies could give the scouts an easier job to watch the targets.
The La Liga side are playing Bolton Wanderers and Oldham in the next few days, and English clubs are expected to be keeping an eye on two players: central defender Juanpe and midfielder Portu.
But despite all this noise about the interest, AS only names one club who would be keen on these guys. That’s Fulham FC.
AS doesn’t really say how much would Girona demand for these players, but considering the way they write it, it sounds like Premier League sides, including Fulham, would have no problem in affording them.
Last month, newspaper Sport claimed that Everton would also be interested in Juanpe. So maybe they’re in the race with the Cottagers for the 27-year-old.
