According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fulham are close to signing Besiktas goalkeeper Fabri.
The West London club have been busy in the transfer window this week with the signing of Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri, and Fulham’s new signing could be joined by the Spanish keeper.
Aspor journalist Aykut Ince reports Fulham made an initial bid of €3.5m for Fabri which was instantly rejected by Besiktas as they initially valued him at €8m. It’s claimed the Premier League side came in with a second offer of €4.5m and following talks the Turkish side are now prepared to accept €6m, although it’s not stated Fulham have offered that.
It’s reported Fulham’s interest in Fabri has come about because their goalkeeping coach Jose Sambade was previously at Besiktas.
The 30 year old has been Besiktas’ first choice since arriving in Istanbul in 2016 from Deportvio La Coruna, making 34 Turkish Super Lig appearances last season.
Fabri is contracted to the Turkish side until next summer.
