Celtic, Rangers and Benfica are ‘clearly interested’ in Manchester United youngster Aliou Traoré, according to France Football, putting Steven Gerrard and Neil Lennon in a battle with the Lisbon club.
The 19-year-old is yet to feature for the Red Devils’ first team, but he has impressed for the English club’s U18 and U23 side in the last two seasons.
Last campaign, the midfielder managed four goals and 10 assists in all competitions for the U18s, while he has scored four goals in 14 Premier League 2 appearances this term.
The teenager spent two seasons at Paris Saint-Germain’s academy, between 2014 and 2016. He joined the English club from Sarcelles AAS in 2017 and prior to joining United, PSG also tried to re-sign him.
Traoré made his debut for France’s U19 side earlier this year and the report adds the youngster has already received ‘concrete requests’ from ‘several foreign clubs’.
This is when Benfica, Celtic and Rangers get mentioned. It’s claimed Bruno Lage’s side and the two Glasgow based clubs are interested in him.
Traoré’s current deal with the Premier League club is until 2021. France Football only talk about the interest from the Bhoys, Rangers and the Portuguese side, and they provide no information on United’s stance on the young player.
