Earlier this month we covered claims from Argentina which stated Newcastle United have initiated contact to sign Kevin Zenón from Boca Juniors.
The 23-year-old is versatile and although he mainly plays on the of midfield, he can also operate elsewhere. A left-footer, he has a contract with Boca Juniors lasting until June 2028, having joined the club in January of this year from Union Santa Fe.
Boca Noticias report Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs ‘looking to sign’ Zenón ahead of future transfer windows. They rate the player highly, and say Ange Postecoglou’s side have joined other European clubs in following him.
Newcastle United and Benfica are both said to have been in touch, and in response to that the reaction from Zenón (presumably during the summer market) was that he wanted to stay a while longer.
Boca Noticias make it clear if Tottenham want to sign Zenón in January or next summer then they’ll need to meet his $15m release clause.
Zenón is represented by InterPlayers, who have experience of working with Premier League clubs.
