Real Betis are tying up the final details of a move for Southampton defender Romain Perraud, with only ‘fringes’ left to arrange.
That’s according to Diario de Sevilla, who report that Southampton should announce the defender’s exit soon.
The newspaper reports that Perraud will be Betis’ first signing of the 2024/24 season, with the operation to sign him on track.
The Spanish side have reached an agreement with the Saints for a deal worth just over €3m and only the ‘classic fringes’ left to be dealt with.
All parties are moving in a positive direction, though, and there is every confidence that the deal for Perraud will be concluded soon and the deal made official shortly.
Perraud is already hard at work to ensure he arrives at his new club at his peak, carrying out a physical exercise plan that he’s been sharing on his social media.
His departure will bring an end to a three-year stay with Southampton, who he joined in a €12m deal from Stade Brestois in July 2021. He spent last season on loan at OGC Nice but they did not take up an option to sign him permanent, opening the door for Betis.
