Towards the end of the summer transfer window, Leeds United appeared to make a last minute push for a new centre-back, and Montpellier’s William Rémy was one of the candidates for the role.
The deal never went through, and while Leeds started the season strongly, things have gone a bit downhill since, suggesting some January reinforcements could be needed.
Over in France, William Rémy, who probably saw the chance to move to Elland Road as an escape from his Montepellier nightmare, is still nowhere near the team.
With a contract ending in June 2018, he could be available for a small amount in January, but first Leeds would have to convince the Ligue 1 side to sell.
Any deal wouldn’t be for the money, as Montpellier are fairly steady in that department, but it would solely be for Rémy’s benefit, who has yet to feature, even on the bench, this season.
A small window of opportunity, but Leeds United might need the centre-back to help them out by trying to force a move.
