Ever since Paris Saint-Germain made the decision to part ways with Unai Emery, they’ve been after a new manager, and considering how long Thomas Tuchel has been touted as the Spaniard’s successor, our guess is they’ve been at it for a while.
Le10 Sport in France believe it all started last autumn, and one of the top managers on their list was, of course, Pep Guardiola.
Despite knowing they had little chance of getting what they wanted, they still asked, just in case, and what they got from the Manchester City manager was surprising.
While the former Barcelona coach never opened the door to leaving the Premier League champions, he did, however, point them in the direction of Tuchel, who will very likely be sitting on Paris Saint-Germain’s bench next year.
Le10 explain both managers are on the same wavelength, both on and off the pitch, and it’s Guardiola who whispered in the Qatari owner’s ear the German manager ‘could have the perfect profile to manage Paris Saint-Germain’.
While this is something that will probably never be proven, it sure is nice to think managers help each other out like this, isn’t it?
Like big cults, with Guardiola in charge of one and Mourinho the other, each with their own disciples, sending them around spreading their philosophies.
