Thomas Tuchel takes his men to Anfield as Paris Saint-Germain take on Liverpool in the first fixture of the Champions League.
PSG registered a comfortable 4-0 victory over Saint-Etienne last weekend and Neymar was rested for the league clash, while Kylian Mbappe missed the match due to suspension.
Today’s edition of French newspaper L’Equipe has a story about how the Ligue 1 winners will line up when they face the Merseyside club, and they are expected to have a 4-3-3 formation, flexible enough to change it to 4-2-3-1 while going forward.
It’s claimed the former Borussia coach is likely to go with the same back four – Thomas Meunier, Thiago Silva, Presnel Kimpembe and Juan Bernat – he fielded in the last clash, while Marquinhos will be deployed in midfield.
Since the German coach took charge at the club, Neymar has not been deployed on the left side of the attack, and instead, he’s been played behind the striker. The Brazilian is likely to start in his new role when facing Jurgen Klopp’s side in the European fixture.
Both clubs have won all their fixtures played this season and it should be seen whether Tuchel can help PSG beat Liverpool.
L’Equipe have based their information on watching the team train on Monday.
