Adrién Silva’s move to Leicester City could surprisingly be collapsing.
This morning, several Portuguese newspapers said the deal was done, as the Foxes were not only signing the midfielder, but also the striker Islam Slimani on a €65m double deal.
During the afternoon, reports from England and Portugal started saying Leicester had activated Adrien Silva’s clause, which is of €45m.
However, the journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi, from RMC Sports, is now claiming that the deal is off.
Adrien Silva will not be joining Leicester !

He doesn’t give a reason for it, but says that the Sporting captain is not joining the Foxes this window.
Adrien Silva was is in a difficult situation at the club, since he gave an interview saying he was ready to leave, but then Sporting released an official statement saying he wouldn’t be sold for less than his release clause.
The reported agreement with Leicester would have between €25m and €30m, although Portuguese outlets were claiming that Sporting would declare the player was sold for his release clause so they could decrease Slimani’s price and pay less money to the Algerian player’s former agent.
As the reason why it’s not happening is still unknown, we better wait and see what will comes out in the Portuguese press in the coming hours.
