From France: Chances of Man United signing West Ham player have ‘really increased’

Manchester United have been impressed by Issa Diop’s first season in the Premier League, leading to serious transfer interest from Old Trafford.

There’s been claims of talks and offers, with the Hammers set against a sale unless they get very favourable terms indeed.

France Football have taken a look at the situation, and on Monday afternoon they report Manchester United’s chances of signing the player have ‘really increased’.

Despite the big claims, and it being pushed as their own information, the reasoning sounds like speculation rather than fact.

West Ham potentially getting a huge transfer fee, with €84m suggested as the asking price, and FF believing €65m would be more like a real possibility, is one reason.

Another is Manchester United missing out on other defenders. It’s explained the chances of signing Kalidou Koulibaly are low, and that Harry Maguire is closer to joining rivals Manchester City.

So, short of talking up the need for the player, and the potential for a West Ham financial windfall, there’s not a lot new here.
