As the Premier League continues to be the only potential destination for Houssem Aouar from Lyon this summer, Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace now show up as two options for the midfielder.
L’Equipe writes that following the collapsed opportunities the player had to leave the Ligue 1 side in this window, only a late offer from England could take him away from his club.
That’s where the duo comes in. The outlet mentions that Brighton and Crystal Palace both ‘recently expressed interest’ in the signing.
Aouar has been of interest to several clubs in the past few months. L’Equipe mentions he even had agreements with Real Betis and Nottingham Forest, who couldn’t meet Lyon’s demands. Then the player himself wasn’t convinced by offers from Benfica and Nice.
It’s clear this isn’t an easy task to take him out of France, so Brighton and Crystal Palace better be prepared to offer convincing arguments both to the midfielder and to the French club.
Otherwise, Lyon are said to be fine with him staying for one more season.
