Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera isn’t shy when talking about his future. Linked with PSG strongly, and also with Arsenal and others, his contract expires in June.
Indeed, since the claims started that he could leave Old Trafford, the Spaniard has spoken more than once, and this week, on the eve of Manchester United’s match against Barcelona, he made the situation very clear.
Speaking to Spain’s ABC, Herrera explained: “It’s true that I only have two months on my contract left, and today, Manchester (United) and I aren’t thinking the same and there is no renewal agreement, but my duty is to keep listening to United.
“What I have clear is that I’m going to continue playing in a big team… I will listen to United, of course, but also to other clubs. I do not close doors.”
On Wednesday it was reported in England that Herrera to PSG is all agreed.
L’Equipe think otherwise.
The French newspaper references the report from The Times and then states the situation isn’t ‘as advanced as announced’.
Talks are ongoing, PSG are optimistic, but the final credits aren’t rolling yet, and other clubs, with Arsenal the only one mentioned, are still in the picture.
It’s thought the Gunners would try to tempt him through Unai Emery and the general Spanish project.
A Manchester United stay remains a possibility, explains L’Equipe, although not a strong one at this stage.
